About Us

I have been an animal lover all my life. Many animals have shared my home over the years. My pets have included dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, bunnies, chinchillas and even a horse when I was younger.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Southeast Missouri State University in 1987. While working my first job dispatching for my hometown police department, I adopted Candy, a Chihuahua/Collie mix. It was love at first site. Of course, my parents were a little concerned that I would be bringing every dog home that the Animal Control officer brought to the station. I had her for 10 wonderful years.

I moved to Jefferson County in 1988 and began working at a social service agency that helped individuals with disabilities to obtain employment. After 12 years, I took an assistant director position at an agency in St. Louis . After long commutes, and feeling that this was not my calling in life, I began searching for a career in which I could work with animals. This is when I discovered the professional pet sitting industry.

After researching the field, I decided to start my own pet sitting service in January of 2001. I began Wags and Whiskers Pet Sitting Service on a part-time basis. I quickly developed a clientele of wonderful pet parents and their furry kids. Please be sure to check out my gallery for pictures of some of my four-legged friends.

As of January of 2005, I am devoting myself to pet sitting full-time. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
